Conscious Website Copywriting is a thorough process to create amazing new content for your online home so you can show off what you do best while helping people understand exactly how you can help them. Here's what's included (and what's not)...

    Choose four pages your website needs. Most business owners choose: Home Page, About Page, 1-2 Services Pages and/or a Product Page.
  • Complimentary contact page
    As the last touchpoint before someone reaches out to a business, this is a crucial (yet often overlooked) page.

  • Deep-dive brand and Essence Questionnaire
    This is where the magic starts! It's where I get lots of incredible info from you that forms the basis of your new copy.
  • 1-2 Hour Call
    To write about your amazing business and services, I need to know and understand both of these - back to front. That's exactly what this chat is about! 
  • Thorough research phase
    Amazing copy is more than just a bunch of words that sound good. That's why every website copywriting project includes interviews with your past clients/customers, a survey for you to send out to get even more feedback and me diving deep into your current content including past testimonials.
  • A round of revisions
    Before we finalise the project you get to read through and make sure that the copy is not only factually accurate, but also that it feels like you, sounds like you and is a result you're thrilled to share with your online world!

Please note: This service does not include:

  • Website design beyond basic wireframing
    After working with me, it's best to work with a designer and/or developer who can create a website design around your new copy.
  • SEO research or strategy
    If you would like search engine optimisation as part of your marketing strategy, I can work with an SEO specialist of your choice or one I recommend.
  • Implementing the copy into your website
    You will receive your copy (the words) in a Google Doc in a simple wireframe which shows the basic layout of the website. Most people give this directly to designers, unless they have the skills to redesign their website themselves.

The Details

Here's how it works, step by step...

Step 1. We start with alll the details

I send you a questionnaire to fill out so I can get a really good understanding about you, your brand personality, your voice, your business, your vision, your services and where conscious copywriting can support you in where you want to go.

This step is also crucial for me to get the structure of your offer/s in writing so I understand it back to front before I start creating copy to sell it.

Step 2. Then we have a big chat

Before we get into the strategy, we set aside two hours to have a big chat (don't worry, I'll lead with all the questions I need answers to).

We’ll cover things like where your biz is now, where you want it to go, how your website is serving you at the moment and how you’d love for it to be working for you.

This call will also give me a really good idea of how you naturally speak so that your website actually sounds like you.

Step 3. I start the research, surveys and interviews

By this stage, you've sent me any research you already have about your ideal client. I also create a survey for you to send out to your audience as well as interview requests so I can speak some past clients.

When I talk to them I want to find out how THEY talk about you and your service (usually they say things you don't think to mention!).

This process can seem daunting if you’ve never done this kind of research for your business, but I’ll guide you along the way and provide you with email templates and ideas of how to reach out to people.

Step 4. Then I write, write, write

From here I start mapping out and writing your website pages. This part generally takes about two-three weeks (depending on how many pages there are and how quickly I get survey results back and interviews booked).

While I tend to get a little quiet as I hone into the writing for your business, I’ll keep you updated through the process and also let you know how the interviews and surveys are going. During this time it's also important you reply quickly to any follow-on questions I have so I can keep moving forward and stay on track for delivering on time.

Step 5. You receive your new copy!

And finally the exciting part! I send you the website in a Google Doc with a walkthrough video explaining the strategy, content and any comments I have for you.

You then have 48 hours to get any revisions back to me (I'll share tips on how to work through revisions easily). I will update the edits and send them back to you within 48 hours.

Once you’ve approved the final copy, a perfectionist (with far more patience than me) double-checks it. Yep, I send all the website copy off to a professional proofreader for a final spelling and grammar check.

Step 6. Finally, it’s time to celebrate!

Now we can jump and cheer and toss the (eco-friendly) confetti as you’ll now have copy that truly feels like you, beautifully expresses your services and connects with your favourite kinds of clients.

Finally, I hand over full copyright to you and the content is 100% yours and ready to share with a designer or developer to add to your website.

Got questions?I've answered some common ones for you...

How long will it take?

Generally it takes two-three weeks from the start of our project. This depends on the number of website pages I'm creating for you and how quickly I get survey responses back and interviews booked.

Do you really need to interview my clients?

Well, technically no. But this is such an amazing part of the process that so many people skip (because it's a lot of extra work).

Through customer interviews, I discover what your clients love about you and your business and then I use their exact wording on your website.

This makes it not only resonate more with your favourite kinds of clients but also makes your website feel right and so uniquely you.

Can you rewrite what I already have?

Absolutely! If you’d like me to rewrite some of your current copy, I can do that through a Conscious Copywriting Intensive. This is great if you want key parts of your website sounding amazing, but you’re not quite ready for the full project.

However, I don’t recommend this route as a long-term solution. Without a thorough research phase, including interviews and a survey, there are likely a lot of crucial (and amazing!) pieces of content missing.

I don't need the whole website, can I just get you to do just one or two pages?

Because a big part of the Conscious Website Copywriting process is my initial deep-dive and research, it doesn’t make sense financially to only do 1-2 pages within this same process.

For fewer pages, the best option would be a Conscious Copywriting Intensive.

I think I need more/different pages. Do I need to do this exact package?

Ahh that's the beauty of custom website copywriting - we get to create it exactly the way we want ;)

How do I pay? Are there payment plans available?

Payment is processed in two – 50% upon booking and 50% when you receive Version 1.

Once I’ve provided you a quote you’re happy with, I'll send you an invoice for 50% which you can pay via card or bank transfer.
